It depends on the theme and setting of your wedding. Here are some ideas: if you're thinking of a tropical beach wedding, I would suggest bright and festive hues: coral, aqua, teal, mango/yellow, lime/lime, fushia, orange/tangerine, seagreen, etc. For a classic and elegant wedding, ivory and gold, champagne, royal blue, white, tan, chocolate, green, romantic/soft shades such as lavender, rose pink, deep reds, peach tones..For a modern wedding, black and white tones, fun tones like polka dots, swirling or bursting stars, metallic shades...For a vintage wedding, lace embrodiery, satin, pearls, birdcage, brooches....

Re: Need help with wedding colors?
I like the Knot also bc it has so many ways you can search great pictures... You can search by color or by item (like centerpieces).
Also, just try a search here on LIW. I am doing pink and green, and when I searched it, I got lots of great threads, which led me to more great threads once I clicked into them!!

FH and I haven't set the date yet, but we are most likely going to get married in the summer. I'm not definite on colors but as of right now I'm leaning towards light green and pink. I think that combination is so beautiful and elegant!

Re: Need help with wedding colors?
You might want to wait until you see the swatches of the bridesmaid dresses. My cousin was set on purple for her wedding but all the purple swatch colors were ugly, and she ended up doing red and silver; it looked amazing! I thought I wanted gold but the gold fabric looked washed out against my ivory dress, so we're going with celadon. Also, once I got my dress, it was so classic looking (ivory with alencon lace on top), I knew I could not do 'fun' popping bridesmaids colors and that the overall look would be classic subdued.
How do you envision your wedding? Dark with rich colors (i.e. dark purples and pinks)? Bright and fun (yellows, lime greens)? Soft and classic (peaches, light pinks or greens)?

Re: Need help with wedding colors?
I would go to a dress site (davids bridal ect) and look through all the colors and see what you like.
If your wedding is in the evening you can go with darker/richer colors
Daytime or outdoor I would go with lighter colors Pastels even (think easter but no as cheesey)

Try bridavlcanvas.com or theknot.com...they have a lot of color options.
I am using varying shades of pinks, creams and greans for my wedding. Shabby chic.

Re: Need help with wedding colors?
it depends what time of the day you'll get married and what's the theme??? Summer goes really nice with light colors..
Plums & Purples: The color of royalty, purple is also a reminder of brilliantly arrayed summer gardens and fields. It can be elegant and timeless when paired with silver, cheerful and fun when paired with yellow. Or, go with a lighter shade and pair lavender with gold for a bright, cheery scheme.
Shades of Blue: The color of the ocean is also the shade of peace and relaxation. It adds a dreamy, tranquil element to your wedding, as well as a touch of glamour. Try something fun and use Navy Blue which has a nautical, clean feel. You won't want to introduce too many other colors if using navy, though. Keep it to accents of white and green, as in foliage-green. These hues work well with classic, elegant weddings.
Teal: Not quite blue, not quite green, this is a popular summer wedding choice. Pair it with silver and white for a cool, refreshing color scheme. Pair it with melon pink for a fun tropical feel. Tip: Avoid Teal bridesmaids dresses, it's a shade that rarely compliments skin of any tone.
Red & Pink: Love, passion and commitment are all wound into the color red. It brings fragrant roses to mind. Deep red can be elegant and timeless, lighten it to a pink and you have a sweet, romantic color. Use all shades of both colors and romance will bloom everywhere. Add to this color pattern other elements of romance: heart-shaped chocolates, strands of small white lights, harp and flute music, programs covered with a sheer top overlay, and lots of candles.
Pastel Colors: Although more frequently seen in the spring, these soft shades can add an exquisite touch to a summer wedding theme. Instead of making a pastel hue the main star, consider using it as an accent color

we're getting married in the summer (July) and those are our colors. bright pink flowers (gerber daisies) and almost a lime-y green, with gold accents. i think it looks really fun and bright, perfect for a summer wedding!
