Okay, my FI and I have wanted to do something for our bridal party/close friends because, well we love them! Anyway, my FI had this good idea that instead of having a bachelorette/bachelor party deal (we're both not really into the strippers, being embarressed, etc.) that we would rent a beach house and have everyone come. We'd pay for the house and everyone is welcome to crash there.
Now, the opinion I need is, is this too much to expect of our friends? Its cost effective to rent it for the week and we want people to feel like they can go/come as they please. The house has 8 bedrooms and we figure we would give the beds to our bridal party with the expectation that people may be sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor, but the best price we have found for the biggest of houses is down in Virginia beach. Our friends are from everywhere along the east coast with some from LI, others from MD, and then a lot from VA, what do you all think? Is it too much of an expectation for people to give up their weekend to travel down to VA beach? Thank you! (sorry so long!)

It sounds like alot of fun but it really depends on your friends. I know alot of my friends work on the weekends and are having a hard enough time moving schedules around for my shower, wedding and RD. So I wouldnt ask them. But If I had friends that worked monday-friday jobs and could afford to make the trip I would do it.

I think it's a great idea! I would not mind driving down there at all, it's not that far and it's so nice to get away and party.

I think its a great idea and I don't think that people would mind. Its something different to do rather than the whole stripper and club thing...I say go for it...they'll love it

Sounds like a good idea, but why don't you run it by a couple of them first before booking it? That way you can find out who would actually be able to make it.
