Need Honeymoon HELP!! (a little long)

I started the honeymoon search about 2 months ago. On a whim went to a travel agent (that I have heard good things about) and he seemed to be in the price range for what we want. But the hotels we want to stay at had not released their 2006 pricing at that time. They were to release them the end of that week. The guy I met with said he would get the accurate pricing and call me that Friday or Monday. I received a call from him on the following Wednesday with a voicemail stating that he was getting the info out to me and would be out of the office the rest of the week, but would have access to his email. I checked my email and mailbox daily, to find nothing. I let it go, and then finally sent him an email (from the email address I gave him) about 2-3 weeks ago stating I received his message, but had not received any info, and explained I was not sure if he was going to email or regular mail it. I left him my email address and home address. Still nothing. Not even a reply to that email.

FH said he may be out of town, which is possible, but it’s been a while since I sent that email! What should I do? I was really excited about using this guy b/c he had been to the places we want to go and had first hand experience of where to go, what to do, and such.

TIA!!

I'd try another travel agent. A lot of them claim to be the only ones to be 'specialists' for that area, which is not true. Aside from that, if they are flaky in answering your emails, they probably won't be very good at dealing with any problems you may have.

Try calling some other agents & see what they can offer you...Even though the one you contacted might be out of the office, it is not worth waiting on him!

I definitely agree that you should try to contact another travel agent.

I think you should try a different agent. I have a really great travel agent that you might want to try. My FH and I got stuck in Jamaica last year during hurricane Ivan and the agent kept on top of things and was able to get us on the very first flight that left the island and to get us 1/2 our $$ back as well as 3 free nights if we wanted to return. She is awesome, I've been using her for a couple of years. FM me if you want her details.

Good Luck

I would go to another travel agent. I had the same problem with a photographer - promised to call me the next day and never did. I looked elsewhere and got a FABULOUS photographer.
