I need to put my family up in a hotel somewhere in the Commack area (FIL's are in Dix Hills, so within a 15 minute drive would be best). I am unfamiliar with the hotels, and FH suggested a place that I know my parents wouldn't want to stay! If it had a pool or something that would be great.

It's not too far from Commack if you are near the LIE. But the Four Points Sheraton in Plainview is really nice (and they have a pool). It was recently built and very nice inside. We booked our hotel block there.

I dont know which one your FH recommeded but there is the wyngate inn in commack (i thought it was actually brentwood ) sheraton in hauppauge, hampton inn in commack, those are the only ones that come to mind right now.

I think it was the hampton inn -- not 100% sure, but it is right near the Bonwit.

holiday inn in hauppague.....they have been very easy to work with despite what i have heard.....we will see if it stays this way till the wedding!! they got us with the free shuttle!

There is a GIGANTIC Marriot right off of the expressway. It's right near the Commack exit. Very nice hotel. My company holds meetings there and I have been there quite a few times.
