need someone to reassure me, before i left home was using toaster, halfway walking i realized the toaster must be on.went back home to check, but then realized that i had no keys to go in . So i went around the back and peered through window, the toaster oven is by the door entrance, peer through and no light glowed. double check there is no light , since it very dark in kitchen again, so please tell me or reaassure it not on. told my sister , she not getting it. told my fh , he told it probably not on. so right now sitting here i am getting ancy, i know you might think i am panroid but i somethimes i do this too myself. right now waiting at work for my father to come home his job so i dont worry, my mother is not home still out of the country.
need to vent to you ladies, arrrgh

Don't worry. My FH left his toaster over on for THE ENTIRE WEEKEND while we were in NJ and everything was fine. I noticed it was on later in the night the day we got home. SO yeah, I think you'll be ok even if it is on

I know my toaster oven's light only goes on when the heating element is actually on, so if it is up to temp already it turns off, then turns back on automatically when the temp inside drops. So even though the light was not on, the toaster could still be on. That said, you don't have to worry since it'll be safe until someone gets home to turn it off. These things don't just burst into flames!
