Need Idea for hand fans( HELP)

I recently ordered some hand fans (Aug wedding) they are very nice, however they are plain in a natural color. I need some ideas on how to decorate them. The colors for the wedding are champagne and wine. Being that the fans are so light I was going to tie some burgundy ribbon( the chiffon kind) around the handles and maybe leave a little hanging. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

If they're not printed on both sides, you may want to get really pretty paper and glue that to the unprinted side. My friend made them for her wedding in Jamaica and they came out beautiful. She used floral paper to really brighten them up.

the fans are made out of like wicker or palm. They are absolutely bare. What type of paper would hold up?

i think dipping in a stain would work. i would worry about spray paint as they might be sticky, peel, or not covered entirely.

Are they like slats? (SP) maybe you could paint every other one.

Jenny those were some possibilties, I will look into that at Micheals. I will try to take a pic of them tonight when I get home from the gym. Thanx ladies, keep them coming.

I was going to say glitter or rhinestones. Just dont go crazy -- little stuff like this is what people usually dont notice and we go crazy over

you could also purchase wine colored silk flowers and put one bloom tied to the handle with a ribbon and maybe attach your wedding probram to the front or menu and place on each place seating.

Don't go too crazy with the flowers tho! You still want the fan to be able to close! I think glitter paint would be beautiful, do a few designs maybe a wedding bell, or something, or just some squiggles..

thanks skew I was just getting ready to do that. As you ladies can see, the fan doesn't close so I will have to do something that will probably go on the handle.
