Our RH is providing us with clear glass hurricane lanterns with tapered candles. we will likely be dressing them up by making little wreaths to go around them at the base that people can take home at the end of the night.

if you want candles.. one thing to make sure is that your hall will allow and Open flame.. Ive done parties where they didnt and it was a bummer
There are sooo many things to do.
Do you want pillar or floating?
one way Ive done mine .. were in different level cylandars with big floaters. Fill the cylandar with stems of orchids or other flowers.
Or.. Ive done lower bowls with several floating candles and floating flowers around them.
Or.. Ive done a shallow(er) bowl, with pillars, and floating flowers.
Those ways are really really inexpensive to do.
What do you have in mind? Lots of flowers or mostly candle?
I was thinking of having mostly candle. I dont have much money to spend for flowers. I was thinking Pillars. or some nice candle holders.

I can give you pics, but unfortunately I can't tell you where to get the stuff
We got our centerpieces at Walmart - FMIL saw them and grabbed them. I don't have a picture, but it's 3 pillar holders (holds 3x3 pillars) - they are cast iron stems in differing heights (I'd guess 3 inches, 6 inches and 9 inches) with a glass pillar holder on top. I think they were about $10 per set of 3.
My friend got something similar from Bombay - three glass pillar holders (look like oversized wine glasses), and she's doing floating candles in them. I think they were around $12 per set of 3.
Another friend bought a 5 pillar holder candelabra from Pottery Barn.

Some of those are really pretty!
We ordered our from Surroundings.com and they are beautiful - I'd highly recommend them if you're ok with buying online. We ordered 22 autumn kits & the people there were really, REALLY nice. I had some specific requests regarding delivery & they were more than accomodating. Everything arrived in one piece & they didn't charge any tax since they're in Oregon. I've since made 2 more purchases from them for accessories (silk leaves, etc). HTH!
