Need ideas for Christmas eve...

Danielle and I are having people over for christmas eve and we have no idea what we should make.

We are having, Danielle's parents, my dad, Danielle's brother and his wife and their 2 kids, and Danielle's sister and her 3 kids.

What do you think we should make for dinner that night?

I know christmas eve should be seafood, but only a few people like seafood, so I was planning to go to BJ's and picking up some shrimp, and then we were going to make a few other dishes.

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Need ideas for Christmas eve...

We always do the seafood thing...what are you having for Christmas Day? You don't want to duplicate! You could do the lasagna thing, which a lot of families do. Or you can make a fresh ham??

Re: Need ideas for Christmas eve...

How about ordering Pizza???
Hmm, I don't know if your going to BJ's anyway than maybe pick up a bag of chicken wings, tenders or something along those lines. Are you planning a sit down dinner or a pick at what you want kind of thing?
If your having a sit down maybe chicken parm and spaghetti.

oops - i guess it took me to long to post!

Re: Need ideas for Christmas eve...

We have appetizers every year for Christmas Eve. It's something my parents have done for as long as I can remember. The menu consists of shrimp cocktail, sausage rolls, stuffed mushrooms, cheese and crackers, stromboli, little hot dogs, french bread pizza, mozzerella sticks, deviled eggs. And the list continues. Each year we try out something new. I can't wait till Christmas Eve this year.

Re: Need ideas for Christmas eve...

We usually make Paella for Xmas eve. That way we get the seafood -- plus chicken and sausage and rice and .. all that other good stuff in paella. It's essentially rice stew and easy to make.

Good luck!

We always eat Steak and Lobster tails on christmas eve. I don't eat seafood, so I just have steak.

Re: Need ideas for Christmas eve...

Many good ideas. I will have to look around at different recipe sites and see if anything interests me. This will be the first holiday we do in our apartment.
