FH's 30th birthday is August 16. I wanted to do something really special. Well, we were talking yesterday and I was throwing out ideas. I suggested maybe going away for the night, to Mohegan Sun. We really could use the mini vacation, plus its his birthday. Well, I just went online to book us the room and for one night they want $375. That falls just a little out of my budget. What should I do? He really is set on this now. Do you think I should just book it and say Happy Birthday and not tell him how much it is costing. I had another idea in mind, renting a limo and when we go to get in the limo all our friends will be in it and we will head off to the city for the night for dinner and bar hopping. But that will cost just as much or more. Hmmm, I don't know what to do. Any other suggestions. Do you think I should just go for the Mohegan and not tell him the price? It is his 30th and that only comes once in a lifetime. Thanks!!

Have you tried a bunch of different websites? WHat about Priceline.com if all you need is a hotel room. I used them once and I saved alot of money compared to the rack rate...

If thats what he wants to do, and is set on it,, Go for it!! (Did u try calling and online prices.. sometimes they differ)
Otheriwise .. how about a casino cruise? they leave out of freeport and sheapshead bay?

Geez, that is a lot of money for one night, that is almost what it cost us for 1 week in Vegas with Airfare at a nice hotel . I would price it elsewhere, or try other websites.

we were going to do that 2 years ago - instead i wound up throwing him a surprse party for the day - it worked out cheaper to invite 25 close friends and all hang out at a nice restaurant!
