Need ideas on hair do's

Okay so I have a wedding to go to in May for FH's side of the family. Besides FH and my in-laws I will only know like two other people at this wedding. It's basically FH's turn to introduce me to the rest of his family for the first time so I wanna look good!

I don't want to pay to get my hair done cause I don't have the money for it right now, so that being said, have any of you girls used hot rollers to curl your hair? I've never used them before but was thinking that they might work to help me do something with my hair so it doesn't just look like a plain mess.

I'm basically looking for simple DIY hairstyles. . .

TIA!

Is your hair naturally pin straight? I have naturally curly hair and asked my sisters friend who has straight hair.

She said hot rollers, combined with the possibility of heat and humidity with weather and dancing, can be a not so good idea, unless you coat yourself with hairspray, which will only result in it being weighed down.

Id google some straight hairstyles that are also pretty and elegant, perhaps up?

i love when the front 'bang' area is pulled straight back with a little poof. Its nice too when pulled in a pony and the sides are a bit poofy.

FH and my bro call it 'THE PARTY POOF'

well I wouldn't say my hair is naturally pin straight but it's not super super curly either. If it let it dry naturally it's kinda wavy (but not like nice wavy, more like frizzy, out of control looks like a mess wavy lol)

I'll have to keep that in mind about the hot rollers though, thanks!
