Need Info About: Woodlands, Royalton, Metropolitan, Westbury Manor and Irish Coffee Pub

I am looking into having my wedding at one of these five places:

Woodlands
Royalton
Metropolitan
Westbury Manor
Irish Coffee Pub

I would like to have a June or July 2010 Wedding on a Thursday night, since I feel they will cater to my small guest list (50-65 people) and hopefully to save money.

I am looking for two main items of information:

1. What do you think I might be quoted for a Thursday in the summer of 2010 for a minimum of 50 people? Any ideas or if you booked a similar time but Friday or Saturday or Sunday what were you quoted?

2. Negatives. I'd love to hear what I should be aware of at all these places (bad past experiences?, cake is bad? hidden charges for things?, slow response rates? etc.!!) Please please let me know.

I don't know if any of those places would cater to that amount of people other than The Club at The Metropolitan (it's their lower level). We had our e-party there, about 65 people. It was $45 pp++ for a 3 hour cocktail party, open bar, champagne, 6 passed hors d'oeuvres and a mediterranean station. Also coffee, tea and cookies. Remember this price was for Feb 09, so who knows what prices are now. I know they said they need 100 people for the upstairs. The Royalton is where we got married! We loved it, but again, I'm not sure if they would do that small. They may though, and they are AMAZING so it's worth the phone call. Ask for Gerard, he's the best. The Royalton food is AMAZING, best I've ever had at a wedding! Irish Coffee Pub might work for sure, not sure on prices at all. Westbury Manor has kind of high minimums from what I remember, not sure about a Thursday night though. Don't know anything about Woodlands. FM me if you have any questions about the Royalton or Metropolitan! Good luck!

The only one of those I looked at was the Woodlands. I was quoted $160pp for a Saturday night in June and if I remember correctly, the minimum was somewhere around 150-175 people. I have no idea what it would be for a Thursday.

I think your best bet will be either Westbury Manor or Irish Coffee Pub....these two have multiple rooms and can do multiple events. They also are the most cost-friendly. I've been to both, and the food and service is always excellent. I went to a wedding recently at The Woodlands and it was ok. Our waiter wasn't that great, but my friend said her waiter was terrfic, so it was just the guy we had.

I went to WM and was quoted $85 for a Saturday afternoon in August - but I also was guaranteeing 200 people. Not sure if they will cater to a small number, but it's worth a try on a Thursday evening.

I have been to a number of weddings there and have never had a complaint - food and service are both great.

we got married at WM on a sunday afternoon in feb and had a min of 60 people. we were in the hill room, and even with 100 people it worked out great for us. for a thursday night i would think WM would work with you on the min. for a sunday winter afternoon we were quoted $55pp. when it got to may the price pp went up to $70 for a sunday afternoon. not sure what it would be for a thursday night in the summer, but i'm guessing the $70-$75 range would be average.

what we really liked about the small room is that it's upstairs so it's really private. there are no other parties up there, and you have the really nice CH room. the room itself is a bit dark, but i actually liked that. we had no complaints at all about WM.

We are getting married on Thursday July 15, 2010 at Westbury Manor and we have to guarantee 160 people for the Manor room (which is the biggest room). My FH has large Italian family so small wedding was out of the question. If we had a smaller party we could have done it upstairs for cheaper but we ended up paying $78 plus tax and tip pp. That's also with things thrown in so it could be even cheaper for you. Felicia is great to work with and everyone has raved about WM so that's why we booked it. Good luck!!!!

im getting married at the woodlands on a thursday. apparently we got a price break (compared to the friday and saturday prices, we did). i am not sure about the minimum guarantee though- we guaranteed 120. they are really great to work with.

we got quotes back in Nov 2006 for Sep 2007 Sun nite wedding, so not sure how much the prices have changed . .

but WM and Irish Coffee Pub both were willing to do 60 person guarantee for Sun nite. prices were about $75 and I think WM offered more for that.

we finally decided on Larkfield Manor who also took 60 person min for $75. people there were terrific, food just absolutely yummy and lots of it. the servers go around with platters for seconds at dinner! and they were willing to throw in other things - - even for such a low minimum of people.

they have a second smaller room that we used that can hold up to 120 and it was perfect. check my photo and video libs for pics.
