Anyone get a loan online? How do you know who to trust with your information? I know my mother has used e-loans to refinance her house and didnt have a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you look into lending tree?
I would recommend going to your bank, honestly, and seeing that kind of rates they have. Check their website, probably lists the rates. You can look into a line of credit too, might have better rates.
If you are in a credit union, there should be good rates. Or go to Bethpage Federal Credit Union - they are open to everyone!

I applied about a month ago to Bethpage Credit union for a personal loan and they turned me down. I'll look into Lending Tree.

DH applied for two student loans and my mom cosigned and he got turned down. I tried lending tree but they said they had to email me info. they were still searching.

It used to be very easy to get a personal loan but not so much these days.
I got one 4 years ago from Fleet for $7K. Now Bank of America requires you put up collatoral. Or they want you to take out a line of credit against your credit card or bank acct....I think the interest rates are high.

I was going to suugest BFCU. But they turned you down. Try some other major banks.

Im actually looking to take out a short term loan and not a very big one. I was planning on paying it back in about 6months or less. My mother even offered to cosign or see if I could use her house as collateral(since it's such a small loan).

i don't know where to tell you where to go... but if this to fund your wedding, i honestly wouldnt' do it. it's just not worth it, IMO. the day lasts 8 hours... you'll be paying off that loan for the principal and tons of interesst.
