meeting one of the GM and his new gf tonight. they want to go to a lounge in the city. i havent been out in the city on friday night in a bit.
whats a good place that is lively and trendy but not overly pretensious??
please recommend!!!!

I think any place in the meat packing is great. Ganesvort (spelling) is a lot of fun, plus if its not your cup of tea, you can always go to any of the other lounges on the block.

also, a lot of nice hotels in general have good lounge spots... like soho grand... or underbar ( which is in the W hotel)
