FH and I were really interested in DJ Gaza (Gary Hoffman) because of his DJ style (used to work at lounges/clubs in nyc). He's more of a low key DJ/MC, great at mixing the songs so there's a smooth transition (no stops in dancing) and very low key MC style. We saw him at a wedding and were really pleased. Unfortunately, he's already booked for our date. Instead he wants to recommend a DJ that works for him - DJ Constantine.
I guess I have two questions: 1) has anyone heard of/used DJ Constantin and what do you think of this alternate arrangement since DJ Gaza in not available?
2) do you have any DJ recommendations who are similar to DJ Gaza? Ie: low key, no show-boating or theatre announcement type MC-ing. I don't need any giveaways, lighting, extra stuff. I just need someone to do music for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Not part of a big entertainment company

DJ Gaza was my second choice. I ended up going with Carol Moore of A Starry Night. She's also very low key and not cheesy at all.

Definitely look at Vinny from High Voltage. We were looking for the same thing, and his prices are really reasonable!

Anyone else have any suggestions for a classy, non cheesy, low key dj? Ie, no loud,annoying annoucements, cheesy music ( the macarena), giveways, or music so loud that no one can talk. I'm also looking for someone that will really give us control over the playlist, as FH and have pretty eceletic taste and like some less known music.

We used FM Entertainment! Frank was great! Very low key, not much talking at all which is what we wanted! And their prices are great!

best review i can give is this.
we never heard of him until we saw him at a friends weddding. Everyone was dancing and he was so low key, im not a MC type of girl. When we went to meet him, we found out he actually had help that night.
Him and his partner were so awesome, I didnt even know he was there. His price was HANDS down the cheapest and i really liked him.

I'm using DJ Gaza's replacement Mandy. I think anyone who he recommends must be on the same level as he is. When I signed the contract it had his name and her name it. He still takes responsibility and you still work with his as well.

I am using Gary and someone I work with just got married two weekends ago and used his other dj....and was SUPER happy!!!! You have to think that if Gary hired him then he has to be just as good!

Check out 'A Starry Night' - their price was very reasonable and they seem very low key.
