Need Lunch Restaurant in the city

Need Lunch Restaurant in the city

I'm taking my MOH out to lunch for her birthday. The only things she doesn't want to eat are Spanish/Mexican, soup or sandwiches. Anyone have any good suggestions in the city? Nothing too fancy since it's just lunch.

Thanks for helping!

I'll be in school in Lincoln Center that morning but it doens't have to be there. It really doesn't matter...I'll go anywhere.

Nothing too too expensive but nothing cheap and diner like either. Location doesn't matter to me so much. I'll be over by Lincoln Center but I don't have to stay there.

L'express
Coffee shop
Cafeteria
Gramercy Tavern
Gotham Bar and grill
stanton social
Houston's
Serendipity-they have great food too not just dessert

Or do you think she would prefer italian food, sushi or something different than listed above

La Bonne Soup is french, not too expensive for lunch (they have some specials too) and it's delicious! There is 'soup' in the name but they have plenty of other things besides soup (their quiche lorraine is great)

Cinema Cafe
Bryant Park Grill
Naples 45
Pera Mediterranean Brasserie
Bread Bar @ Tabla
Tamarind

It all depends on what you want to eat...there are so many restaurants. Any type of food you would prefer to eat?

I highly highly recommend Gusto Organics. It's a fun atmosphere because it's the only restaurant in NYC that is 100% organic (down to Soy ink printed on the menus!) And now, they just opened the only 100% organic bar in the world! It's a really fun pick - 14th street and 6th ave. It's on the SW corner and most accessible by the F,V,D,B trains. :)

La Bon Soupe is a great recommendation, too! It's RIGHT by my office - so funny.

Serendipity is still getting current reviews on menupages.com ....so I doubt they are closed.

I know they were shut down by the health inspectors sometime last year or early this year for failing to pass inspection...but to my knowledge they cleaned up their act and reopened.

Don't know if this is what you were thinking but Pam Real Thai is there and is great and affordable

Osteria al Doge (theater district Italian) not very cheap but nice

if you want to browse for cuisine or area. . . www.menupages.com is great

Sushi samba is nice - they have a few locations. .

yes, i remember when that was on the news a few months ago, i know they closed but just for a short period of time to clean up their act but from what i heard they had plans to reopen. I thought maybe something else happened in the meantime.
