I need some help. My FH and I are not going on a HM right away. I got a new teaching job and I can't take anymore than 2 days off for the wedding. So..we postponed the HM to a school vacation in April. That being said we wanted to do something special for the weekend of the wedding. We are getting married on a Friday and we were going to go and stay in the city for Saturday and Sunday night. We have been looking at hotels and most of the hotels are between $400 to $500 a night!!!!! The price shoots up in December for the holidays. So as much as I would like to do the city we don't want to spend a fortune. Does anyone know of a romantic getaway place that's not too far from long island since we only have a long weekend. We are really up for anything. Bed and breakfasts or a hotel somewhere. Let me know.
Thanks Kelly

Well... the only things I could think of would be Conneticute or RI. Check out the boat schedual and see where it brings you. You can bring your car on the boat. There are some nice areas in Conneticut and RI has some islands like Martha's Vinevard and Nantucket (?) My friends did their honeymoon at Martha's and my father went to Nantucket and both liked it alot. Only thing is both were in the summer so I have no real idea about the winter. Also, if you guys ski, or would like to just set yourselves up in a ski lodge, upstate New York or Mass mountains are a few hours by car.

FH and I LOVE going to Cape May, NJ. This town is so cute- we love it.. We want to buy a place down there!
The whole town is a historical landmark- it was a Victorian Seaside resort-- all beautiful Vicotorian homes.. Great restaurants and a beautiful beach and boardwalk-- just to walk down in April obviously.
Check it out- you can stay in a romantic B&B, enjoy wonderful meals.. and walk around and shop in this adorable town.
It's at the end of the Jersey Shore- about a 2 1/2 drive from the city without traffic.
