Need new lipstick for Saturday wedding - please help w/ recommendations!

Hi all!

Well, I couldn't be more excited about this Saturday as it's my BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING!!!!!!
I'm so happy for her and feel so blessed to be a part of her special day - even though I'm going to bawl the whole time!

On that note - I was planning on wearing my one fav red color for lipstick, but I was looking for it last night and thank God I thought to check, bc I can't find it anywhere and I have no lipstick! This was the one tube of lipstick I really own, so I'm lost now that it's gone! I'm so bad at picking out nice lipstick colors, especially reds, I just have the hardest time with that color for some reason! So can you ladies please offer any suggestions or recommendations of a great lipstick I can wear? Our dresses are burgundy/wine, and I have a very pale complexion w/ blonde hair & blue eyes. I just need something that's red enough to complement my dress, but without making me looking washed out. Anything you can suggest would really be appreciated - TIA!!

I have to recommend everlites by Max Factor.....it is one of the 2 step colorstay lipsticks, but it feels almost like a gloss & stays on for hours. I wore it for my wedding & got completely hooked. They have a ton of great colours.

They make a few burgundy colors....I would say get a red with a violet base.

My favorite red is Benetint by Benefit. I am very pale and it just brightens my whole face without screaming LOOK AT ME I'M WEARING RED LIPSTICK like some reds do on me.

Plus, b/c it's a stain, it lasts forever!

Clinque - Black Honey almost lipstick or gloss (gloss is sticky beware)

I am fair with blonde hair and green eyes and it looks good on me.

Maybe her makeup artist can do your lipstick that night?? Just a thought. Otherwise I would take a trip to the makeup counters at Macys.

I like this too but its soooo light in color

I would go with a plum lip liner and lightly line your lip and fill in the entire lip (lightly) with the same color pencil, then put a berriy/nude lipgloss over that. it will give you a great look and last I think red would be too much. I love revlon glossy rose would be great.

Wow, thanks so much for all that help!

I guess since I'm kinda pressed for time (and $$!) I'm really looking for something I can pick up at Duane Reade, CVS, etc - DR is right across the street from my office too, so it's quick shopping! Thanks again for all these helpful suggestions - keep 'em coming!

I line my lips and fill in with Cover Girl Smoothers lip liner (color - Heather Satin).

Then, I go over my lips with Cover Girl Continuous Color lipstick. (color - It's Your Mauve)

I found this to be the best combination for all-day coverage that doesn't budge.

I've also found that simply by changing the liner color (since I line, then fill with it) it alters the color of the lipstick .. so if I use Cinnamon Slick .. my color will be more of a red color.

Are you in the city? If so there's a discount makeup store on 38th between Madison & Fifth that has all kinds of makeup. Good brands too. Plus all the lipstick is out so you can test them - Chanel, Clinique, Lancome, Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, etc.

I think it's called Cosmetic Market, it's right next to Jacks 99cent store. It's in the middle of the block right down from L&T

OKAY - I am completely swamped today since I'll be out on Friday, so I only had time to run across the street to Duane Reade.... so here's what I ended up getting - I treated myself a bit and got two :) (Thanks to everyone for the Color Stay suggestions!!)
