Need opinion - on best man/maid of honor situation

My FH is only having a best man ( his best friend) & I have 2 children from my previous marriage. My son who is 10 is going to walk me down the aisle with my father. My daughter who will be almost 13 at that time will be my maid of honor (i guess really a junior bridesmaid b/c of her age?). We were trying to figure out if it would look silly having his best man and my daughter walk together in the recessional as well as having them announced together at the reception.
FYI my kids LOVE my FH's best man I thought it might be cute..but just looking for some feedback. thanks!

Why not?! Especially if they have a great relationship and are comfortable together, that is the traditional way and would really accent how special your daughter is to you. Absolutely do it, no other thoughts about it.

I was going thru a similar situation because I wanted a 16yr old in my wedding but didn't really have anyone to walk in with her. We finally asked her brother too (didn't think he would want to do it orig) I think its better when you have people same age.......but there are no rules.
Do what is best for your day!

We thought about having my son (her brother) walk in with her, but then my FH doesn't really want his best man walking in alone. I may actually have my son escort my grandmother in - she is alone and 85 and can't walk too well.

I think its a great idea to have your son walk in your grandmother.

Just curious but are you having all of your BM process in with a GM? You could solve this by having all of the GM walk in with your FH, and have the BM walk in alone ahead of you. Your son could escort your grandmother in, and then at the end of the ceremony, what if you had a triple walk back down-- your son, the Best Man and your daughter? then the rest of your GM and BM match up past that?

Well we aren't having any BM or GM. Just the BM & MOH (my daughter) So to include my son i wanted to have him walk me down the aisle.
I was really more concerned with the reception entrances when they announce everyone.

Gotcha. Sorry that I misunderstood.

I think you could have them introduced separately, or together. You could also have your son introduced with your daughter and the Best Man (again, all three together).

That's a good idea...We're just trying to make it so it won't look or sound awkward!
I'm kind of thinking of maybe having my sister as a maid of honor - and then my daughter & son would be junior BM and junior usher.... too much to think about!! ugh...

Hi, I just did this. Only no father, so both sons walked me down.

My 12 yr old daughter walked with FH's BM who is also his brother. When they were introduced the MC announced the 'Maid of Honor & Christine's daughter, Melissa, escorted by Best Man, Dan'

Edited for spelling

Also, my sons were introduced after the parents. You could have your son introduced like that maybe, or with your parents, or I can't remember if you said you had a grandmother.

I asked my daughter if she would rather be intro'd with her brothers or as my MOH and she was adamant that she was my MOH and that is how she wanted to be intro'd.

Yay! And if he really wants to ham it up, my boys were intro'd to REM's 'End of the World' Obviously, I didn't see it, but everyone thought it was hilarious.
