I was wondering if anyone had any information on Duet Photography. I visited with them this past weekend and LOVED them, but had one concern. I was told that I could not meet the photographers until I signed a contract, which I do understand, but I am concerned that there might be a language barrier between us. I would hate to get to the wedding day and strain for us to understand each others requests etc. I was just wondering if anyone had used the different crews (especially Woo who I am fascinated by) and if you had any input.

I find that kind of odd that you can't meet them- what about asking if you could speak to him via email or something? Why wouldn't they allow you to meet the photographer?

I would be concerned about not meeting them. The most imprtant thing with photography (after quality of pics) is that youre comfortable with your photographer.

I dont know anything about them- I have seen their site and they have beautiful work- but there is noooo way I would ever book a photogrpaher without meeting them first!!!!!! It is very very important you feel comfortable with them. Did you get to see individual books by the individual photogrpahers? That is also extremely important! If they want your business and are good business people, they will honor your wishes and let you meet the photogrpaher before signing a contract- otherwise I'd go elsewhere- there are so many great photographers in the area that will be willing to accomodate you.

I thought it was odd too, but he explained that if he had to bring in a photographer for each prospective customer, they would always be in the office and never able to shoot, which I get. I was going to ask if I could speak to him on the phone to see if that clarifys my concern. Thanks for the suggestions!

My thoughts exactly after I met with them. I couldn't understand him very well and I kept having to repeat myself for him to understand me. They do great work but I wouldn't be able to deal with that on my wedding day

I'm booked with Duet and I'm sure that you won't be disappointed with them. From everything that I've heard, Eric has the worst accent and the photographers aren't that difficult to understand. The person who did our e-shoot was fine and the pics came out beautiful. Plus, they do have separate albums from each of the teams so you can decide who's work you like the best. We're using Jay's team.

I posted on this subject right after I met with a photography company. I was given the same speech and despite the fact that I liked the work, I did not feel comfortable booking the photographer without meeting him/her(I have heard that Duet does great work though!). I ended up booking Thomas Paul because I met with him and we clicked. His work is amazing. FM me if you need the info.

we did not meet our photographer until the day of the wedding it was no problem. no language barrier either. you are hiring the photographer to take your pics, not to talk to you. don't worry about the accent, you will be fine. you can also schedule a casual day shoot to meet your photographer.

my cousin used duet and LOVED them. However for me, to not meet with them untill the day of the wedding is just odd to me. You shouldnt have to worry about telling them certain things u want (or FORGET to tell them certain things u want) the day of your wedding. Also, we met with our photographer a few times before....he said he wanted to know our personalities so he could reflect that in the pictures....and let me tell you - OUR PHOTOS ARE AMAZING. anyways, i'm sure u wont be dissapointed if u do book with them. Many brides have raves about Duet. But goodluck!
