Need opinions

Found a dress at Davids, love it! Worry about their alterations dept. So then I found the same dress by Maggie Sottero. It is 3x's as much and you can see the bones of the dress! Okay so then I find the same dress by Davinci and got it qouted at $125 less than the Davids dress and I thought if I could get it ordered at a reputable bridal shop, like the same place I get my BM's dresses (plus they might get a discount). Heres my issue can't find a sample of this dress anywhere! I'm going to call places in CT seeing as I'll be there this weekend. AM I being too crazy? should I get this dress at Davids? Making myself nuts! I need some advice. TIA

Wow ~ I would call CT or maybe NJ (the surrounding areas) if I were you I probably would hang in the towel after that and pay the extra $
but I would have my alterations done elsewhere... or even where your BM are ordering there dresses you can use there seamstress! Good Luck! Let us know what you decide!

I agree-- buy it at davids then get it altered elsewhere. Can you find it online? Did you try emailing Phyillis at gownfind (Bridal Elegance) If you email her the style number of the DaVinci she can probably beat everyone's prices. [email protected]. Try it out!

If money is an issue buy the dress at the cheapest price you can find . DO NOT get it altered with Davids. I've heard soo many horror stories, and besides that, your dress may be less expensive, but your alterations will cost more than your dress if you get it altered at Davids. Go with your gut. I hope all works out for you.

Um... so you are trying to find the dress for the cheapest price possible? I wouldn't be worried about buying it at David's. Davinci is NOT selling you the same dress and neither is maggie sottero. The maggie is probably the original and David's then DaVinci created a rip off. Who cares, if you like the copy then that is all that matters.

I would love to help you. I live in CT. Maybe I can give you some shop suggestions. Just let me know which dress you are looking for. In the end you might be better off just buying it at Davids and finding a great seamstress. Where are you getting your bridesmaids dresses? maybe you can get your gown altered there?
