What do you think of having a small, intimate ceremony at the house with immediate family and a handful of friends and then the reception later on in the day? Or is that just plain rude to not invite everyone to the ceremony?

I truly feel people should do what they feel would make the day perfect for them....that being said it would probaly hurt some people to not be there...as long as you can deal with that reaction...go for it.....we decided to have our ceremony at the RH .....not at a church

Everytime I think about doing it, I get so excited because I thought it would mean more to keep it intimate. And then we could take all our pictures before heading to the reception site. But not sure how aunts/uncles/cousins may feel about this. I know friends (except really close ones) and co-workers probably won't come to the ceremony anyway.
I don't know-I'll have to think about it some more.
