So does the cake have to match your theme colors? I am doing hot pink and light green for my colors, but don't plan on doing that for the cake. Is that ok? I was going with ivory fondant with chocolate scrolls on it. What does everyone think?

Re: Need opinions...
It's your wedding, and if that's the cake you want I say go for it. The colors you want for your cake can pretty much go with any theme though so it will look nice.

Re: Need opinions...
our reception is going to be all blue lighting, branch CPs, hanging crystal and votives, very winter wonderlandish - but i kind of like the white cake with the brown swirls on it - and that doesnt really match the winter vibe - if i wanted to match id have to do an all white cake but i really like the look of the other cake....i dont think it HAS to match but i understand where you are coming from because im having doubts about having the white cake with brown designs because it doesnt 'match'

I don't think it has to match at all. My colors are brown, taupe, and pink but I want a traditional white/ivory cake.
