Candy bars at the reception.. good idea or no?

Probably depends on the amount of food you'll have. I just went to a wedding at Milleridge Inn, where the cocktail hour (seafood bar to die for!) had so much food, I ended up taking my meal home. Forget about even eating cake and all the other desserts. It was just too much (in a good way, of course).
I love them. But they can be a lot of money. We put one together at our engagement party (which was a smaller scale so more affordable). Some halls don't let you bring in your own either (you have to use a vendor, which is an even bigger expense) so If you do decide to do it, I recommend making that your favor. Also I don't know about the price but I've also seen icecream trucks, snack trucks, and cotton candy farewells instead. Lots of Sweet options! lol
good idea!
If you are planning on doing your own candy bar I would check with your venue first. Some dont allow outside food even if it's wrapped.
I think you should do it if you really want to have one. I have been to a few weddings that have had them and to be honest, I think 90% of guests are too drunk or too full to really appreciate it lol.
