We had agreed that we didnt want to register for individual flatware sets and i saw this at Macys on sale so i got it. Its lenox. 5 piece setting for 12 and hostess set. do you think this is fancy enough for our good silverware or should we use it for everday?Lenox Esquire

I'd say more for everyday....but why not use it for both? Do you truly need 2 sets?

My SIL bought silverware for her formal gtg, along with $250. per head place setting china. The first time they took it out (a year into their marriage), little cousin dropped a $75. saucer.
Personally I know it is nice to have, but kind of impractical, but that's jmo.
Also not too much fun having to polish the silver....
