I'm going for my first hair and makeup trial in two weeks and I honestly have no clue how to do my hair. My dress is a casablanca (I'll try to post it) and it was strapless but I had the neckline changed to a v-neck. I wanted to wear my hair down and curly, but my sister was there and said that with a v-neck it wouldn't look good. Then i figured out that so many girls are wearing their hair down now because most dresses are strapless so it looks really good... I'm not really into a full updo - I don't want that super formal look. I also have NO idea if and what I'm wearing in my hair - I want a mantilla veil (if I do a veil) but i wouldn't wear it the whole night. I know she's going to ask me what I want, and I'm clueless! My hair is pretty long; I'm letting it grow for the wedding. Any ideas? Also, did everyone have their veil/headpiece for their trials?? I wasn't even going to look until after new year's.

I know what you're saying but i've been so clueless about the wedding stuff that I want other people's opinions... I think she's right that fully down wouldn't look as good. maybe something more like the other pic. I'll either do no veil or a mantilla - it's the only kind I like, and if it's too much with the dress then I'll just skip it and wear stuff in my hair (MUCH to the major disappointment of my mom and sisters!)

yeah with straps like i thought lol, otherwise you couldnt have v-neck...honestly ALOT of girls have had their hair down and had straps on their dresses. We all ask for opinions, but in the end you have to do what you like, and what you are comfortable with, you are supposed to look like you not what someone else wants you to look like...SO take opinions but make the final decision. See i hate my hair up and if anyone told me they thought it would be best for me nothing would be able to change my mind. During your hair trials, test out different styles and see which you like...and honestly dont worry about disappointing your mom and sister, they should be supportive and want to see you happy and doing what you love not gvetting mad bc you dont do what they tell you to do

I've already disappointed everyone by not doing the church wedding! so they are used to me and my non-traditional ways. I was thinking originally half up half down and curly but I do like that other picture that was posted - I feel like something like that might be a good look with my dress. I hate my hair up too - I look so stiff and I hate my profile! thanks!

If you hate your hair up then definitely DONT do it, honestly i couldnt even imagine anyone tellingme how i HAVE to wear my hair...they should want you to feel comfortable. Its YOUR wedding so of course its gonna be done how you want things and ppl just have to live with that

no i definitely won't wear it all up - I think my sis was having regrets b/c she wore hers half up for hers and didn't like it in pics... but it was too severe... But besides hating it up I'm going for a more romantic/informal look instead of classic/formal/elegant, if that makes ANY sense.
