Need opinions please...

Hey girls, so I think I found my dress... i know OMG .. i am so in love with it.. I first tried on the Kenneth Pool Degas dress that I couldnt get out of my head a couple of weeks ago with my sisters, but I came to the realization that over 5K for a dress is just wayyy out of my budget.. THEN one of my bff's just found an extremely similar dress (kenneth pool happiness) that I am in EVEN more love with! There is a bride on these boards who is trying to sell it for around 3K. The dress is my size (size 8) and I would just have to get any additional alterations... Am I taking a huge huge risk by doing this? I mean if I already got measured to a size 8 it would be the same thing as just ordering it in the store right? I have been emailing the girl who has the dress and basically she said she ordered the dress but completely changed her mind, the dress has not been altered in any way and is still at the store- the tags are STILL on the dress and it is brand new- she has only tried it on 2 times herself...what do you think? I am going to offer her my best price and see what she says but I just think that if she accepts its a deal I just cant pass up...

I tried on the kenneth pool degas dress in a store already (the 2 dresses are both made by kenneth pool are are almost identical) & i fit into the size 8 perfectly (but I still want to lose a little weight so I will need it altered..) she said she typically doesnt let people try the dress on because she wants the dress to remain in perfect condition (which Im actually happy about cause if I knew she was letting a bunch of others try it on then I probably wouldnt even think about buying it)

That is really exciting. Can you meet the girl somewhere and try the dress on? This way you see the dress and know there is nothing wrong with it and you know that it fits you.

THIS! Tell her your best price, if she won't take it, tell her you'll match whatever other best offer she gets for it.

My concern about not trying it on is what if it really is not a size 8? I have no trust in anyone and would not put anything past anyone.

I also would not buy it without seeting it in person. You want to make sure it is perfect and no stains, pulls, etc.

but.. hate to be a second debbie downer but I agree with Mara.. while I understand her not wanting everyone trying the dress on I would DEFINATELY want to see the dress to make sure its in perfect condition with nothing wrong.
