I still have not told my poppa that DH and I are in contract on our condo. I live with him, and take care of the house etc for him. So, I know it will be hard for him that I am leaving. I am sure he will not take it well.
So here is the question, do I tell him without DH and keep it private? Or should DH and I tell him together? I dont know the best way to break the news.

I would think you should tell him in private. Try to talk to him when he's in a great mood and you are alone. Good luck.
I think it depends on the relationship that DH and grandpa have...if they are close...then include him...if not...do it on your own

Ok ladies, the deed is done! I feel so releived! I went to dinner with poppa tonight and my brother (unsuspecting ally)! My poppa was in a good mood and so I just went for it! My brother acted like it was the best news and my poppa took it well. First he said condos were crap...but I told him that I did not want a house. Then I told him I needed him to check out the plumbing etc...(his old profession), so I made him feel important. So far so good. I am so happy that I finally got this off my chest. My brother was a huge support and it was better without DH there.
