Hi girls. I need some help. We are looking to paint our dining room, living room and kitchen. Everything is very open (we have an open floor plan and get a lot of light from front living room window and back sliding glass doors in dining room). I would love a creamy light yellow color, like Benjamin Moore's Antique White or Vanilla Ice Cream. That way I can add color though accessories. But, we have been told that with out light wood furniture (whitewashed), everything would blend and the furniture would not stand out. I wanted something neutral though. I love earth tone colors, so now maybe thinking of a tan/brown. But everything is like one room. All 3 rooms connect. There is really no break off point in the walls between rooms, everything just flows. I don't know what to do. I am so bad at deocrating. We went to a BM dealer and got a whole bunch of paint color samples in brownish/tans/greens. Any help you can offer would be so much appreciated. P.S. Our kitchen is black and white. White cabinets, black appliances, gray countertops, but we are thinking about changing the color of the countertops and taking some of the black out of the kitchen. Please help me...
Thanks, Denise

Re: Need Opinions re: Paint Color....
did you try the martha stewart swatches i told you about? kmart has tons of her swatches and she has all different colors that coordinate well with each other on her swatches. gave me some great ideas to do with my open floor plan.
ETS: i found the perfect sage to go with a tan color that i have in my living room.. just as an example.

No prob! Really though... we have gotten some great ideas and i have used all her swatches for even ideas on accessorizing, not necessarily just painting! Another example... I have the creamy ivory with beige speckled tiles in my bathroom and after looking at her swatches picked up some cranberry colored accessories to brighten it up. Hope this helps!

Yes I did use her paint and I do actually like it very much. I only had to use one coat in each room I did and they all came out great! Let me know how you do!

Re: Need Opinions re: Paint Color....
I used Benjamin Moore's Bleeker Beige and Manchester tan in my entire house. I also used Bone White and Navajo white and I am finding it very easy to accesorize with color with all the colors I picked.
I have been accessorizing in maroon, sage green and even some copper. All fall/warm colors and I'm loving how its coming out.
Pier 1 had some really great accessories and candles to match these paint colors.
