Need Opinions - Update w/more info

So, as you ALL know, below is a photo of my placecard holders. I haven't ordered them yet - only a sample set. The cheapest I've found them is 11.99 per set of 4, and I was full prepared to pay this. On a whim, I looked on eBay, and I found someone selling them for $7 a set. They only have 18 sets (I need 26) but this would still be a substantial savings for me. My problem is that the seller on eBay is new, and does not yet have any feedback. It is an eBay 'store' so it seems reputable, but I'm still leery. What would you do? It would be a savings of $90 if I bought the 18 sets at $7 and the add'l 8 sets at $12. Should I take a chance w/this eBay vendor?

So I just found out its flat rate shipping of $10 for the 18 sets. I think I'm going to take a chance, b/c the seller seems to be going out of their way emailing me, posting a new item just for me w/the lot of 18 sets, etc.

i say go for it and buy them through the ebay vendor as long as they do paypal....because then if you get them and they aren't in good condition etc you can get your money back through paypal

plus if it is a store i think that is better than just some random seller.

Ebay is usually pretty good about backing their stores.

I say go for it! Is there even a savings when you include shipping?

Maybe you should send the ebay seller a quick random question about the items just to see what their response time is.

I did this! And they did get back to me w/in 24 hours, so thats a good sign. I'm waiting to see how much it will be for shipping, b/c if its a ton, then its not worth it.

how is the feedback of the ebay seller? have they sold many place cards and you can see what people have said about the quality of their product? what is their return policy?

i once bought some place card holders from ebay and was super excited cause it was so cheap. they were little silver bells. yeah they showed up rusted and broken.

it took me 3 wks to get my money back.

i'd check and see if you are comfy with their feedback and other people's past experiences.

Yeah well I know everyone has to start somewhere---but I would prefer they don't start with MY order.

I'm too paranoid, I'd probably just s u ck it up and pay the $90. Either that or see if they will refund you any monies if you are dissatisfied. I don't like dealing with ANY ebay seller who no feedback.

Damn. I'm very torn. I'd love to save the money b/c I'm running out of cash at this point, but maybe its worth it to have peace of mind.

I see how you're torn. My initial reaction was to just pay up the $90 and have peace of mind...but then ebay has pretty good reputation in terms of their stores.

I say go for it.

DH sells stuff on ebay all the time; like others said if you use paypal you will get your money back.

honestly, because they are placecard holders and you will never use them again most likely (at least not that many at one shot) I would definitely try to save the money.

you have time, so I would say try it and pay through paypal- if there is any problems, paypal refunds your money & goes to bat against the seller- plus I think its a great sign that they answered your question within 24 hours

I would buy them....I dont want to jinx but Ive always had good experiences with ebay...
