Need opinons....haircut ideas....don't laugh!

I was going to post this in NWR, but there's too much political drama there, and I spend more time 'here' I have been looking for MONTHS for a new hairstyle and continue to say that I want to go short, short, short....just b/c it's easier and I'm fed UP with my hair - same old style, dried out and frizzy, etc.

So, while DH and I were watching High Crimes over the weekend, I realized that Ashley Judd's haircut in that movie AND in Someone Like You really appeals to me. Plus, she has the same [square] shaped face that I have, which my stylist told me to look for when searching for a style that would flatter me.

What do you think - should I go for it??? I like the fact that she sometimes wears it straight, and sometimes curly b/c I would too!

Thanks ladies....I guess my biggest 'fear' is that it will make me look older....the last time I had a really short cut it did age me. I'm not really going for 'older'...but, I want something different and fun...I'm in a hair rut!

You are very brave my friend!! I am the biggest chicken going when it comes to my hair!!! Hence the mop that it is!!! My friends and hairdresser have been bugging me to do highlights, but the big scaredy cat that I am, won't do it!!! The bravest thing I just did was this tone on tone my grays and for me it was BIG step!!!

Go for the gusto!!! I'm sure it'll look great on you!!!

Claud, go for it. The best decision I ever made was to go to a new hairdresser (albeit more expensive than I was used to) and tell her I wanted something new to change my 15-year old plain jane hairstyle. Well, not that she did anything drastic, but the cut itself was excellent and it really made my hair come to life. Well worth the money spent. And it’s only hair, us women have so many options for styling that if you decide you don’t care for it, it’s easily worked around! Good Luck!

I like it and I had my hair cut like that many years ago and it was a very 'fun' haircut. You can actually do a lot with it.

I love that cut!!! I say go for it. I don't think it will make you look old at all.

Go for it!! Its only hair...if ya dont like it...it will grow back!! Everyone should get a new do every couple of years...it makes ya feel better!

i absolutely love that cut!! i had something very similiar until i grew out my hair for the wedding. now DH doesn't want me to cut it

I like the cut, but don't think that short hair is easier to manage. If its easier to manage for you, i say go ahead.

Very different for you but DO IT!!! It will take some getting used to but if you hate it... its just hair and will grow back!

I like it. Very sassy. I would love to have that cut (did last year) but hubby said he'll freak if I do. Didn't like it when I did it before

Go for it!! I love trying different styles. Love the cut - I had that style when I was growing out my pixie.

For me, I have to agree with this. I found I fussed more with shorter hair than with it a little longer (past my chin now). But styling products - especially wax and/or pomade, will become your friend!

I LOOOOOOOOVE that cut. I say go for it!! It can always grow back!!

Why not?? I think it's a cute cut and if you hate it, it's just hair!! It will grow back quick!!

Claud, I definatly think that cut will flatter the shape of your face, GO FOR IT !!!
(or will your face flatter the cut, which way sounds right?

You have nothing to lose, hair grows right back, but i KNOW it will look great !!!

Do it! If you do not like it then start growing it in. Even trying to grow it back may bring you to another style you like.
