Need Photo Location Advice- LONG With Poll

I've been struggling with this for awhile..and FH is not being helpful at ALL (actually he is being downright mean- telling me I'm a neurotic bridezilla for being concerned about this )

When I first booked my photographer she suggested we go to Jones Beach for pictures, which was great because I saw an album of hers with boardwalk pics that I loved.

BUT- my wedding is on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, so I've been concerned that
1. the beach will be too crowded for nice pictures
2. we will get stuck in traffic and miss CH- which I DO NOT want. (We have about 2 hours between the ceremony and when I WANT to be at the RH- half an hour before CH starts)

My parents think I'm crazy to go to the beach- my dad thinks we should go straight to the RH- and I explained to him that I do not LOVE my RH. It's fine for the wedding, but the grounds are not great for tons of pics...not enough variety...ao although I want a few taken there- mostly family portraits...I want to have another location.
My mom suggested pearsall park in amityville (church and RH are in Massapequa, this park is about 10 minutes or less from the RH) It's gorgeous, and convenient, but I kinda had my heart set on the beach, and FH is practically insisting on it because the photographer suggested it and still thinks its our best bet...

Anyway, I'm stuck. Do I give up the beachy pictures I want in favor of the (still beautiful) convenient, park location or do I risk it and go to the beach...?

If anyone knows of a beachy area around amityville, massapequa, seaford that I can use without having to be a resident, please please please share- cause then I can have both!!!

Sorry so long, and thanks!!

This is the only picture of the park I could find on the web...its actually really big with a little path, lots of flowers and trees, benches a low stone wall, a gazebo and a trellis...

I would go to the park. I wouldn't attempt to get to Jones Beach on Labor Day weekend ANY weekend, certainly not on the day of my wedding.

I'd MUCH rather be at the CH. You won't make the CH if you go to Jones Beach - I think that's pretty much a guarantee. I think it comes down to deciding which you want MORE - the beach or the CH. I don't mean that in a harsh way. I mean, in order to make this decision, you have to figure out which one is the priority.

While I want great pics, I don't want to miss the party! So, I'm planning to stay local for pictures and make the CH.

I think the CH is more important because I know the pics will be beautiful at the park too...

I know there are beaches all over in the waterfront neighborhoods...but I don't know where they are...lol. I think I'm going to have to drive around searching for one..lol.

Keri, I have an album of plenty of Pearsall park pics- check it out!

I wanted to go to Pearsall Park but I think we don't have enough time....I personally love it. It's so well maintained. It's very small but quaint and I think you can take GORGEOUS shots there. It's got a real charm to it.

HTH!
