I want to get as much as I can for under $3K. lol.
I def. want parent albums, proofs...dont like the slip-in albums.
I haven't even started yet...

My advice is not to get into the 'I want everything' trap. There is no point to get albums and 10,000 proofs if the quality is lacking. Before you start comparing 'packages', really analyze the type of photos presented and figure out what you like. You can always create albums at a later date, but you will never be able to retake the images.

I agree w/ her 100%. The worst thing in the world is getting your photos back & not being happy. (That was the one place I wasn't going to budge on. I wanted THE BEST!)
I think for the most part a photographer might be able to work around your budget!!! So remember that. As September2004 said look around for the style & quality you like. You still have a good amount of time.
Good Luck!!

I totally agree! I had a much smaller budget than you, but I was really picky with my photographer. You can always add albums later, the idea is to pick a photographer whose images make you go 'wow!' - oh, and who's not an a-hole.

We looked at Patken and I didn't feel they were very reasonable at all, although the pictures were beautiful. We decided on ADA Studios (offices in Smithtown and Shoreham). Their pics are beautiful and Big John seems great so far. Two sets of our friends are also using him (we did not like Anthony). We got photo AND video for $4000, so I think the photo was somewhere around $2500. We didn't do parent albums, though, so I don't know what that adds. Good luck!

I agree with this, also. I would much rather have less prints and better quality. What good is it to have 3 albums and a bunch of prints if there are no good pics to fill them? Look for quality. A photographer who can tell a story with your day
