NEED PRAYERS PLEASE!

This is really tough because I usually don't look for prayers but one of my mom's best friend's needs your prayers. She has ovarian cancer and has been battling with it for over a year. She has been in and out of the hospital and just today had to have her stomach pumped because it had filled up with fluid. The doctor has told her that she should discontinue her chemo because it isn't working. I think she will be switching to a chemo pill next.

This woman is wonderful and amazing. She made my shower gift as soon as I got engaged because she was worried about being around for it. (her standard shower gift in addition to something from the couple's registry is crocheting an ivory basket weave afghan that is gorgeous. I have wanted one since the first shower I went to where she gave one and she hasn't given me mine, but my mom told me she made it)

Please say a prayer that she has the strength to keep fighting. She has children and grandchildren who need her. My mom and the rest of the group of their friends (a group of about 8 women including this woman's sister) need her.

Thanks. She is amazing and warm and loving (it's the Italian nature) She and her family all live on the same block, like Brooklyn on Long Island (one son at one end, one son and the other, her sister right next door, her nephew a few houses down in her mother's house (her mother moved in with her sister to let her nephew and his wife, my MOH, have the house as a starter) Great woman who is really strong, but I think a few extra prayers could only help.

My mom had cancer.. She is doing great now but i what its like to be in that position. It is soo hard...too hard for word, especially for the ones that love her. I am so sorry.. She is definately in my prayers.

Thanks ladies! I spoke to my MOH last night and supposedly Mrs. C (the woman we are praying for, is MOH's husband's aunt as well as my mom's friend) is really calm and not upset. She is just intending on continuing the fight. Her son's are angry and upset and her sister (My MOH's MIL) is a wreck, but Mrs. C is just so even tempered that she is not letting this get her down. God bless her good attitude.

You know what is amazing??? They can get a guy on the moon, spend billions of dollars to send this robot to mars and collect data but they can't find a cure for cancer! I lost 3 out of 4 grandparents to cancer. I will be praying for you and your mom's friend!

On a side note - I saw a headline or scrolling banner thing that there are 3 or 4 cancer vaccines in the works and close to being tested. The body is such a mystery though.
