Need Prayers-- UPDATED
Sooo FH and I head home in 2 1/2 hours, just about to leave work and head home to meet him and I am having a panic attack that American Airlines is going to give me a problem carrying my dress on board! I called months ago and they told me that there are no guarantee's but most of the time they just hang them in the captains closet up front.
FINGERS CROSSED LADIES THIS GOES WELL!
Soooo I made it to NY with the dress!! Holy cow was it a stressful event, but it got there and in one piece!!! My advice to any ladies traveling with a wedding dress, make sure you get to the airport early, that is the first thing. Second is make sure you tell the woman or man at the check in gate that you have a wedding dress, and to please make sure that as soon as your plane gets in to ask to speak with an attendant that will be on your plane or the captain.
My one regret in this process was not being more assertive. When i got to the check in gate the woman that was up there was a MORON! And was basically telling me i just had to board with my group (which was last because we were basically in front) and if there is room when we get on then there is room. Don't let them tell you that!!! Once they started boarding first class, platinum and all those important people
I got up again to ask the same moron, did you at least let them know that I do have a wedding dress.... THANKFULLY, and I do mean THANKFULLY!!! There was another woman at the desk this time when i asked this question again and as the moron proceeded to try and tell me i had to wait until my group 6 was boarding, she stepped in and was very very nice, and simply asked if I had an assigned seat, and i said yes, since JANUARY!!! LOL and she was like hunny come with me! The captain of the plane even asked someone to put there luggage in an overhead bin to help accommodate me.
So after sitting there for an hour sweating my tata's off and having an anxiety attack and ready to throw up on the dress, it did all work out in the end.![]()
