Need prayers/wishes/luckUPDATED

Hi Ladies,

So one of my professors sent me back my final research paper for the class, and RIPPED it apart. She didn't make one positive comment throughout the entire thing. I'm really bummed because that's never happened before; I've never gotten lower than an A- in my Undergrad/Grad career (and I've only had 3 A-'s, the rest A's.. so it's really a bummer...).

She hasn't posted final grades yet, but I'm really nervous. I wanted to apply to Princeton & Yale for my PhD, and I feel like one B might mess that up for me. I'm really nervous. Please send me thoughts and prayers and wishes of luck my way.

Thank GOD. The final grades were posted and I got an A minus for the course. Woooohooo!

oh don't worry! even if you get a b I am sure that one b won't mess up your dreams of princeton and yale.. good luck though!!

Try talking to her and ask her maybe if you can make some corrections on it and resubmit for partial credit or if there is any extra credit you can do for the class?

I am sorry to hear this Jen! I agree with the others, I would talk to the professors and see if there is anything you can do for extra credit or if you can fix the paper for some more points. Hopefully she spares you and gives you a good grade!!!

No worries. One B is NOT going to wreck your chances for Princeton or Yale. What are you studying? I'm looking to go back for my PhD too and was considering Princeton.

I work as an adjunct professor part time. Now, in truth, it all depends on your professor, but if I had a straight A student who came to me upset about a final paper, I'd definitely let her do a rewrite. So, talk to the professor for sure!

Mainly about how female power is suffocated in Macbeth; how females are aligned with the verbal and the supernatural particularly, and how both of those forces are stifled.

Yah, a few other brides suggested this too. I'm going to try if I do wind up with a grade that isn't working for me. However, te professors at my school in the English department are VERY difficult to get to change a grade. They believe that grades 'don't matter'- which I understand-to an extent. So a LOT of them don't accept rewrites or change grades because what matters most is 'what we learn' and the grade doesn't.

However, they don't seem to get that some of us are trying to get into Ivy League programs for PhDs!
