Need Prays

One of my sisters' is preggo and had her first doctors appt and the fetus was five weeks and they didn't hear a heart beat. The doctor freaked my sister out and said it could mean she might have a miscarriage. She has been a wreck since last week. I keep telling her to calm and relax herself because its not good for the baby. She wanted to talk to her old gyno would delivered us and was our doctor and the girls in the office wouldn't let her speak to him or leave a message because she wasn't a patient anymore. Her second appt is tomorrow.

How early can you start to hear the baby's heart beat?

The fetus is now six weeks and she is eight weeks along. I told her I think the doctors were wrong with the conception time and felt it was too early to hear a beat.


I am praying everything will be all right.

I am really not sure how early you can hear a heartbeat but just wanted to say I will keep your sister and her baby and your family in my prayers!

Be strong for her - it's a tough thing to go thru!

As someone that is pregnant - ALL my doctors said you cannot hear the heartbeat until 12 weeks at the earliest - but to see it on the monitor during a sonogram - mine wanted to wait until the 8th week.

One of my co-workers is pregnant and she was told wait 8 weeks to hear a heart beat.

Very true....hearing the heartbead isn't until around the 10th week. Seeing the heartbeat on a sono is different. I saw the heartbeat at 5w5d. Again every person is different. Lots of

I'm sorry she is stressed. A baby's heart doesn't even start beating until the 6th week and even then you don't normally hear it. I was told at my 10 week appt that we probably wouldn't hear it. Also, it's harder to hear if the mom isn't '110 pounds soaking wet' as the doctor told me. Conception dates are crazy and not accurate. So many uncertainties.
