Need Priest advice

Our priest that we got assigned for the wedding has a very strong Italian accent, I have been worried about this because I am nervous that people, and FI and I won't be able to understand him on our wedding day. Do you think it would be bad if I requested a different priest because of this?????

Re: Need Priest advice

i had the same problem. i would have asked for a different priest, but my DH is a volunteer fireman and this priest did all the ceremonies for the FD, so he wanted him. He was very hard to understand. What I did was make my programs super detailed, so that anyone reading along would know exactly what was being said. the only part that wasn't written obviously, was his homily.

Re: Need Priest advice

When my friends sister got married they had a priest with a very very heavy indian accent. We were not able to understand a word he was saying. The bride and groom even had to ask him to repeat stuff. If you are not comfortable with him, I would definitly asked if there may be someone else you could work with!!
