Okay...so I am proberly the only male on this site....but, I thought that some of you girls/brides to be can help me. I am currently getting an engagment ring made and it feels like its taken a bit long.
The ring is custom made and its very detailed. Now, I don't know anything about ring making but, many people told me that they are taking way to long. We started to have the ring made at the end of March and now its May and all we saw was the molding. Which was almost two weeks ago. I was wondering if any of you girls had your engagment ring custom made? And how long did it take?

Hey Eddie, mine wasnt custom made so Im no help. Sorry. Hopefully some of the other girls can give you a better idea. Also wanted to suggest that theres a 'Grooms' forum on here too. Not that youre not welcome on here!!! I just wasnt sure if you knew, I bet its a great place for ideas.

My engagement ring was custom made. Everything said and done it took about 3 weeks. Have you spoke to the jeweler about the hold up?

Mine was custom made by Tacori and it took 8 weeks. My fiance almost died because the ring arrived at 3pm the day before he was to propose on our 7 year anniversary.

Well, the jewler told me that their is so much details...but, it just feels like he's delaying...for whatever reason it is.... Maybe its just me...who knows?

my engagement ring was custom set also -- but it's a very simple band and it took 2 weeks I think. maybe it's just becuase of the detailing on the ring. will they let you come in see what they have completed so far on the ring?

How much longer do they expect it to take? It must be very frustrating but I am sure you don't want them to rush either. I hope they finish it up soon. Congratulations on your upcoming engagement.

Thanks guys for the nice comments....
I saw the molding two weeks ago and it looks great,....but that took almost a month to see....I want to call him to see whats the hold up but, I don't want to seem that I am being a pest........
Its an expensive ring and yeah it does have a lot of details......errrrrr!!!!!!! Thanks guys!!!!

This would be my suggestion. You are not being a pest, but checking on a product you paid for. Explain that you want to see the progress and make sure it is what you expected. Also, tell him you would like an expected done date, so you know when to propose.
