Hello, My sister is getting married at a local Church in Long Beach, NY on Sat, Sept 26th at 11:00 am. Her and her husband are also going to be living in Long beach full time. They are looking to have a afternoon reception following the ceremony, and I was wondering if you could refer us to a nice vineyard, country club, inn or such within a hour or less driving distance? She is on a budget and it is going to be on the smaller side (apx 50 people). If possible, would you be able to refer us to a local, reasonable location that we can look into?
Thank you very much for your help!!

Re: Need reception ideas ASAP Sept wedding!!
Congrats! At this point a lot of the dates for 9/09 are taken at a lot of places. If she is only going to have about 50 people...you should look into renting a private room in a restaurant. Unless, she wants to have a DJ...then you can rent a room at a VFW or Knights of Columbus and have a DJ there. Good Luck!

You may want to look into a restaurant. On a Saturday afternoon you may stand a good chance of finding one. Look at La Marmite in Williston Park. There is a private room in the back of that place. The food is very good.

The Watermill located in Smithtown has a smaller room called the Bostonian. It has a minimum of 50 people and holds up to 86. It is a beautiful room even though it is on the smaller side. That would be about an hour's drive from LB.
The Coral House located in Baldwin also has a smaller room, minimum 50 people as well.
I think the Bostonian at the Watermill is a nicer room though. JMO

Re: Need reception ideas ASAP Sept wedding!!
Congrats!!!! If she is flexible with the date maybe she can go to the halls and see what is available for Sept. She might be lucky and they might have her date Plus when you book in short time...it saves you lots of money. HTH

Re: Need reception ideas ASAP Sept wedding!!
try HR Singletons in Bethpage or Domenico's in Levittown. They both have big enough spaces that if you wanted to bring a dj in and need a dancefloor they could do it.

Try the Beachview in Island Park. It's like 5 min from Long Beach. Not sure of the minimum though. There is a golf course in LB too I don;t know the name -they might be able to handle a small wedding. FM me if you want the info I live in Long BEach and might be able to help you.

You can try Westbury Manor - they have the hill room which holds about 50-75 from what I remember. They are great there. You can ask for Harrison (516) 333-7117. If he's not there, you can speak to Felicia. The swan club has a few rooms also, you can check with them. You can FM me if you want pricing or contact names/numbers. I live in Long Beach as well and we looked at 12 places. Good luck.
