Need Reponse card advice

Need Reponse card advice

I am working on the wording for the invite and the response card right now and I am torn on what to do with the RSVP. I am having a small wedding (100 people) and I am being very strict with the guest list because we must keep it at that number. That being said, I am Hispanic and my family has not had many weddings in the past few years, so some of them still have this idea that it’s okay to invite everyone (I experienced this at my Quinciañera, “Sweet 15). So I am not sure that I can use the traditional response card wording because I have a feeling that some will assume they can bring a guest, even if I don’t put it). I have been of thinking doing this:

Please reply before the 20th of April

Name(s) _______________________

Number invited__________ (I would put the number here)

Number attending ________

I know is not etiquette, but I think that at this point I am less concerned with etiquette then not going over my limit. I don’t want it to look rude or anything, which is why I am going back and forth. What do you guys think?

wouldnt the invitiation address who is invited? LIke if you are only inviting Mr and Mrs and not the kids, wouldnt they know that once they get the inviitation? Not sure if you need to write the line that says number invited, etc.

Some people put their response saying:

___ of _(2)__ attending

So you leave the first one blank and then fill in the second one with how many guests are invited.

Ideally, that is how its suppose to work, but some people I know ( I used to be guilty of this) assume that when you invite the parents, their kids are invited (who may no longer live with them and have girlfriends... I am exagerating, I know only a few would do this...but I just dont want any surprises or having to call people back saying that they have to cut the number...

date twin!

I happen to see this invite that I liked and decided to get it now. I feel like when Janaury comes around, things will really start getting crazy for me! Plus, the guest list has become one of my biggest stress in this weddingl!

I have the same problem and people did this for my 15th too! So FH adn I decided to have the response cards personalized. It was only about $20 extra, but I wouuld rather pay 20 than $100's more for people adding guests. here's what we're doing..

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Smith
Two seats have been reserved for you at our wedding and reception.

Yes, ___ of us will be attending
___ We are unable to attend

Good luck!
