Need some advice.....

I was debating on whether to post or not but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this too.

I went to the doctor yesterday and she told me that I have an Ovarian Cyst...that the doctor says has been leaking. I have been in a lot of pain for a few days so I went despite the weather because I was worried. She didn't seem to concerned...but I am worried

Have any of you ever had this???

Did they say anything about it affecting getting pregnant...down the road

Not yet...I am due to get my 'friend' next week so she said that I should wait and see how that goes and see if I am still having symptoms after its over

I have never had one, although the dr. did think I might have had one last year, and they told me not to worry about it.

Unfortunately I think they're pretty normal to get! Mine actually went 'away' after I went on birthcontrol. BUT they did cause me to have false positive paps! I had to get all this extra painful testing. THANK GOD everything is pretty much back to normal now! (knock on wood) The pain SUX though!

My first yr in college, I was in Albany - 3 hrs from my family, 2.5 hrs from FH. One day I had HORRIBLE cramps, so of COURSE, the University Health Center gives me a preggo test ('cause I'm 18 and I *MUST* be a crazy careless sex fiend...). Obviously, that came back negative. I was told that if I had any more pain, I should go back to the health center. That night, I was in SEVERE PAIN! I actually passed out in the shower. My roomies called my FH (BF at the time) and he drove 2.5 hrs and took me to the E.R.

Turns out I had MANY ovarian cysts (polycystic ovaries), and several burst/ruptured at the same time. I UNDERSTAND that you're in pain! That was the worst pain I've ever ever felt. I swear, I couldn't even get out of bed. FH carried my sorry @ss to the bathroom so I could pee - he even held me over the toilet so I didn't have to sit (that's a huge pet peeve of mine!)

The gave me morphine in the hospital, and told me that the ruptured cysts had to pass. I had my period for 3 weeks straight after that, and (TMI ALERT!) it was thin, watery blood. They put me on a very strong BCP after that, and although I still have cysts, they only appear at certain times of the month, and they're not painful.

You should wait to see after AF shows - the cyst may disappear!!!

That's me too. He upped my dosage though after the rupture issue - it's a higher % of hormones. It took a little while to get used to, but hey, if I don't have that pain anymore, I'm good!

I had an ovarian cyst years ago. I was in SEVERE pain one day and I got rushed to the hospital. Well, to make a long story short I was told that the cyst burst. I was in so much pain I couldn't even lift myself up from bed. Did you get a sonogram?

same thing happened to me when I was 16. I've been on the pill ever since, and that's supposed to prevent them. As far as I know, it does not mean you will have complications later getting pregnant. Many woman have scists while they are pregnant. (The bursting and fluid inside the scist causes the pain) Many women have scists and don't even know because they don't burst. Don't worry, it's very common. As your doc if the birth control pill will help, if you're not already taking it.
