Hi All, I feel confused. I just visited Woodbury CC and spoke with Peter. He is Fantastic!!! Anyway, that was the first place I looked at and I really like it as well as my FI. I feel that I should look at another place so I can compare it. Do you think it would be silly to choose the first place you visited? I only wanted to go to a couple of places any way. I would pick the upstairs room. Is anyone else booked there. Do you think the upstairs room would be to small for 150 people? I want to make sure there is enough room. Please I need some advice. Thanks

Re: Need Some Advice for Woodbury CC
coming from a girl who booked the first hall she went to, i say no problem. if you really love it, go for it. yes its good to 'shop around' but if you know that that is your hall, go for it.

Nope i don't think it's silly at all....I went to my hall first and then saw another 5 after that and realized everytime I went somewhere I kept comparing it to the first one. That's how I knew it was the one for me. All the best.

Re: Need Some Advice for Woodbury CC
We booked the first one that we saw.....after seeing 8 more. Seeing the others helped me to realize that I liked the Swan Club the best.
One of my friends booked the 2nd hall that she and her FI went to and they wished they had shopped around just to see what else was out there not because they are unhappy with the place they chose! When I got engaged she told me to look at as many places as possible which is what we did!
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Need Some Advice for Woodbury CC
I booked WCC, as you can see. I am using the upstairs room and my guarantee is 150. WCC was my third place I looked at and Peter was the one I met as well. I thought he was great and he took the time to really discuss EVERYTHING. Thats Y I booked!
I would check out another place if that is what is going to make you feel better. A perfect example is that I already have a videographer and have seen the work and probably going to pay a pretty for. I cant let it go there since I havent seen or met with anyone else. I am meeting another videographer on Sun. I want to 'compare' to make sure I am making the 'right' decision.
So, its ok to look at another place or if you feel really set...WCC it is.

Re: Need Some Advice for Woodbury CC
We were all ready to book the first place we looked at, and then my parents convinced us to look at others, which I am REALLY glad we did, because the first place did not even end up in the finals. However Woodbury CC was in our final choice. I loved the grounds, the ceremony on the pond would be beautiful! I don't remember which one the upstairs room is, is that the one they are renovating? If it is, it would definitely be big enough for 150 people. I'd say look at a few more places. JMO.

Re: Need Some Advice for Woodbury CC
Thank you all so much for your responses. I feel better. I really like WCC and love Peter the BM. He was terrific and I felt very comfortable with him. But, we will be looking at other halls. I feel that I need to do that, so I'm going with my gut. I say if its meant to be Woodbury CC then it will be. Thanks again girls.

It can't hurt to look at some more places and that way you'll KNOW Woodbury is right. We picked Woodbury on our first day of looking, but it wasn't the first one we looked at. We hated the ones we saw before and then after, we just kept comparing everything to WCC. We figured, if WCC was better than the place we were at wasn't worth it....

I don't think there is anything wrong with booking the first hall. You may want to go to another hall to make sure you are getting a good deal....or to have a negotiating point. As soon as we mentioned that we were going to another hall, the BM at one hall offered two extra chafing dishes. Another lowered the cost per person by $2. You;ll know when you have seen 'your' hall.
