Need some advice on the ATS - W

Need some advice on the ATS - W

I took the LAST 2 summers ago and I got a near perfect score (i;m a good test taker), but I still haven't taken then ATS-W. Is it difficult? I'm kind of worried because I really only took one Ed. class in college. Do you think that it's necessary? All of the prep books just seem to have bullet points to memorize. is there a better way? Is there a good prep book or an Ed book that can help me learn what i need to know? Is it as scary as it seems? Thanks so much.

It is not that difficult. Just go through the practice book and review some ed psych. I didn't find it difficult at all. Good Luck!

Personally, I think the CST is much harder!

I am like here. They're making it harder and harder to get certified. I didn't take a teachgn program in college so I have to either get my master's or go through NYC teaching fellows or something. I just feel like they're making it oppressive.

A LOT of the ATS-W is common sense. My FH passed the LAST and ATS-W with no problems, but it took a little while on the CST Multi Subject (needed for elem. ed.)

He is NOT a good test taker at all, he gets so anxious, and he did fine.

You'll pass without a problem!

The ATS-W is a lot of common sense...there are usually two answers that are very similar and both correct...choose the one that the principal would want you to do....many of the questions were situations and you had to respond....the CST is more difficult...I took the CST in Social Studies and although I passed, it was defnitely the hardest, most challenging test out of all of them

Good Luck...You'll do great!

I went through the Fellows program to get certified. If you do that, you don't have to take the ATS-W before you start working. You only have to take the LAST and the CST.

I took it after student teaching and that pretty much helped. I think a monkey could pass it, but if you're looking for a perfect score, then I would do it after you student teach
