Need some advice please

Need some advice please

So, I am driving myself crazy with this honeymoon. We decided to go to Fiji instead of Italy. I am talking to 2 travel agents and looking up stuff myself as well.

If you are bored and get a chance, here are the 2 resorts we are thinking of based on recommendations. Which one would you choose and why? I can't stand being so indecisive all the time, ughhhhhhhhhhh.

Thanks.

Qamea

Matangi

LOL Im bored at work....so I vote for Matangi. Only because I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and someone was complaning about the beach at the other place. Im a big beach person. Although they both look amazing and you're never going to please everyone and I think whatever one you choose will be just as fine. Congrats! Let me know what one you go with!

Just looking quickly my impression is that I'd rather stay at Qamea...I like the fact that they have the locals coming in to share the Fijiean culture with you, and the place looks absolutely gorgeous.

ETA: I am really uber jealous and I wish we had the ca$hmoney to do this!!!!!

They both look gorgeous. I would do some serious reading of reviews on tripadvisor. maybe go to the bookstore and see if they're in fodors/frommers/lonely planet/etc.

LOL, yep, have done this. Still can't make a decision. I'm going to just have FH tell me which one he likes the most before I lose my mind.

Thanks, I think we're leaning towards Matangi but not finalized yet.

Your choices are gorgeous!!! I agree with the other ladies... you can easily flip a coin and not have any regrets. Confirm the reviews on both and go with the higher rating for what is important to you....

I would the Qamea if I had to choose. I like the menu they have on the site as well as the idea of wine tasting. My FH and I are big fans of food and drink!! The Matangi doesn't give a good detail of the food. I learned that the more variation and/or restaurants in a resort the better when it comes to this.. I got tired of eating the same basic thing every night at one resort.

Also, Qamea seems to have natives come to dance and other activities that will give you a great vacation along with experiencing the actual culture of the island.

They also have a nice list of complimentary actives and I like their idea under 'romance' link for a private beach/snorkeling get away.

Qamea also lists various off site activities that are avalible.. I wold love the waterfall one, not to say the other resort doesn't have this, but I like knowing what I can do before I get there!

Ultimately it's up to you, they both look gorgeous!!

I'm sure you'll enjoy either!

eta.. i didn't scroll down on the Matangi list,. they do have a nice list of activies and complimentary excursion/tours..
Such a hard decision!

As a former Travel Agent.. find/google an agency or company with a Figi specialist. They will have been there, know what they are talking about and be able to give you good advise. I know Liberty Travel has their agents do courses etc to be a 'specialist'..

Sorry, but while I can recommend hotels, not having been there or seen them... I wouldn't wnat to recommend something!

ditto!! that is what sold me! that's awesome and different== perfect for a honeymoon.

Go by TripAdvisor--read the reviews and then you can also post a question on the message boards like 'matangi vs other one' and people might respond

Did you go to tripadvisor.com? I would look at the reviews. That helped with me some of my honeymoon planning.

Re: Need some advice please

MATANGI!!!! Because that's where FH & I are staying lol so I am biased. We are in one the Treehouse bures!!

ETA: They DO have plenty of local culture at the resort (some girls expressed concerns above). They have the kava ceremony you can participate in, coconut show, and a traditional Fijian dance evening where locals perform & share stories and legends. There is also a village tour where you can visit an authrntic Fijian village. If you download the activities list, you can see all the complimentary & non-complimentary activities.

FM me if you ever wanna talk Fiji
