Need some ceremony ideas and inspiration form my LIW girls.

Hi ladies,
I booked my officiant and I have the option to create my own ceremony which I love. I think it will be really amazing to write our own ceremony just for the two of us.

FH and I grew up in very religiously mixed families and neither of us affiliate with any organized religion.

However, we are both very spiritual people. I know I want to do a hand tying ceremony to honor FHs Irish heritage but other than that I am at a loss as for where to start.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of poems or readings that speak to the power of love but are not too religious?

TIA

PS this is the reading for teh hand tying ceremony

We will ask a special person ( i think my brother to wrap a ribbon around our hands a the officiant reads this)

“These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding your hands on your wedding day, as you promise to love and care for each other today, tomorrow and forever.”
“These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it, that will hold and comfort you when fear or grief confront you. These are the hands that will wipe away tears from your eyes, both tears of sorrow and – much more common I am certain – tears of joy.”

You can also google some poems/readings that can really stand out to what you and your fiance share together. Or even some song lyrics that can be sung by someone that represents the both of you.

just think about things you mutually love, and then search for readings on that topic.

I recently went to a wedding where the MOH did a reading by audrey hepburn (from the bride to the groom) and the BM did a reading by James Dean (from the groom to the bride) it was adorable!
