We're having our RD right at the hotel where we blocked rooms and where most of out OOT guests are staying (purely out of convenience to those traveling). It will be in one of their small banquet rooms and I would imagine there will only be abour 4 tables.... Can anyone throw out some really easy DYI (for a gal who doesn't have a DYI bone in her body) ideas... Pictures would be GREAT!!!

These were actually our wedding CPs.....you could buy silk rose petals and some votives and be done with it....simple and pretty!
we also had our RD at our OOT hotel. I let FMIl do whatever she wanted --- she made DIY centerpieces but unfortunately i dont think i have any great shots of them.
I'll try to describe them and find a pic...
Description: she bought a gold metallic plate, glued glass stones (like for a fish tank) around the edge, put some kind of bud vase in the middle filled with green decorative crystals and some sparkly stuff, put the top of a peacock feather in it for some height, and a few other sparkly things and then scattered tiny crystals in the plate, and put 4 small votives in glass things (2 blue, 2 green). they weren't very expensive to make and she got the pieces from craft stores
for placecards each seat had a plastic martini glass with 2 wedding mints in it and some sparkly shred, and a card in a small holder

Kim, you could do something like mine - vase from walmart - $4; pillar candle in your color choice from target or walmart - probably $6 or so; stones from michaels for bottom of vase - $4 a bag or so?
You might be able to find all of this at a $1 store.
Or you can use coffee beans like I am planning on doing.
If you need a refresher you can look at the pics in my album. I think for a dinner, just the vase part is needed. Or you can buy a pack of 4 cloth napkins and put that underneath the vase in the center of the table for a little color.

I would buy some bouqets of flowers from Stop & shop...or 2 dozen roses from Bj's ($15-) and just put in a vase. It's so easy & simple.....stress free the best.

For my eparty we got a fishbowl, filled it with colored rocks and a pillar candle, and surrounded it w/matching petals.
