we live in an apartment and we have blinds (horizontal) on all the windows. we didn't put them up but they do the job. however, i don't think they make the place look too cozy and i think i want to put up some curtains. but i don't have $$$ to really do window treatments, you know? i'm thinking for the kitchen to do the whole cafe curtain thing with pretty dish towels, but i can't do that with the l/r and b/r. any suggestions on how to do it affordably and without needing dh to put anything up? thanks!

Maybe a scarf curtain to hang over and on the sides of the blinds? They also sell those pressure curtain rods that you adjust to fit the window, no hardware needed, they are simple!

There is a place on 110 ... Marburn Curtains or something ... very inexpensive scarfs and kitchen curtains. You may want to start there.
I think window treatments really finish a room

Oh yeah they have those spring loaded cutrain rods. My sister put those on the windows at her apartment.
If you are looking for cheaper curtains and rods, try Target and Walmart. They both have a good selection. You can also get kitchen towels at both places for like $1-2!

JCPenny's Home Store has a lot of curtain choices, it's worth checking out.
