so we have decided what we would like to do as our favors (cook books with recipes from family and friends) but in order for them to be printed in time for the wedding I would need to send in the recipes probably about 6 months in advance (just to be safe).
FH and are going to be sending out our STD sometime in the summer.....the question is, would it be okay for me to add a little paper in with the STD asking for a few recipes (sent via mail or email) ?
I've seen this done with showers but never in a STD, so do you think its weird/tacky?

hell, why not? It's your wedding and the idea is really cute. I say print a cute card and include it with an email address and your own address as well.

I don't think it is tacky at all. I think everyone will love the favor especially if you put on the bottom of each recipe who submitted it. I would absolutely love that if I received that it.

Not at all. I actually think that the best way for you to be able to get the recipes in time to get the book made and it saves from having to make a million phone calls to retrieve the recipes.

Thanks! i saw this favor idea from someone on the 09 board (i think) and i was so excited. I thought it was the greatest favor i have ever seen! Its so great that i can include everyone and feel that no one will just toss it (well at least i hope not lol)

yes i def did bc when i saw it i thought to myself this must be out of control expensive, BUT its not!
it would probably cost around $5-6 per book and i would give it per couple...so its not bad at all..

i *think* they were in the $5 range...and then it goes on type of paper, how many pages, color, bandw etc... mrssoto got them i believe hth

i love this idea and when you send your STD's you can ask them for a favor and send it the receipe for a special treat to be revealed on the wedding day!
