Need some help from teh creative girls.. Does this sound stupid?
My mom is throwing an e-party for us and I am in charge of table decorations. I found these 9x9x9 real Tiffany & Co boxes and was going to put 4 on each round top table. Maybe put some votives around. And maybe fill a middle one with white arrangement of flowers. I figured going with the engagement ring idea. My mom thinks it sounds stupid. I figured I might even get the hall to make a cake like piled tiffany boxes? Note my ring is not from tiffany's!
Should I go with this or do a winter theme since it is Nov 30 after Thanksgiving and the hall will already be dressed for Christmas?

I think it's a cute/creative idea - especially if Tiffany's has some significance to you and your FH. But since it doesn't...I don't think people would 'get' the dots you're trying to connect. I would go with the holiday theme - since the hall will already be decorated as such.

IMO- I didn't see the connection with the e-ring/Tiffany's until you explained it in the end. I think your guest might scratch their heads as well, unless it is explained.
ETA- I LOVE the holiday theme. You can totally run with the decorations for it!!

I did not make the connection either. Something I did see that was very cute was a vintage teapot with a plant in it, very cute. You can get tea pots at some antique or thrift stores. I went with ballons and tissue paper in a gift bag filled with candy.

I totally love the idea!!! But then again, I love anything that has to do with Tiffany's. Great idea!!

I prefer the holiday theme. The Tiffany's idea doesn't seem to fit.

I like the Tiffany's idea...but I agree with what everyone else said, there is no connection between you and the purpose of having the Tiffany's theme......I personally think a holiday theme would be gorgeous....I can picture sleigh centerpieces with poinsettias in them...WHITE pointsettias and maybe like 3 candles in it.....and little white and gold floating candles in small votives surrounding it at each person's table setting....I think white and gold is elegant and beautiful around the holidays....there is SO much more you can do with a holiday theme...in MY opinion (PS: not that it makes me an expert, but I'm an art major...so I guess that puts me in the 'creative' category!)

I really did not want to do a holiday theme since this is not a Christmas party. But I was thinking maybe like a wintery theme...snow, ice? i don't want people to get upset that christmas is coming as they are forking over a gift!

I really like the tiffany idea , however don't make it your theme just use them for your centerpices, I love the color of the box, use cute small white roses(breakfast @ tiffanys, teacups, cute finger food etc. have the cake be engagment related ie. jewels, wedding bells, cake can be the color of the box but make a cute design on the cake like two rings together or the date something along that line, If you like it make it work..........who cares. JUST THINK BREAKFAST @ TIFFANY but if It is @ night Think Dinner @ Tiffanys lol

Your wedding is not at christmas time so who cares that the place will be decorated incorporate your thought into that the blue on the boxes is very winterwonderlandish .

DUH....It says your wedding is in the fall....I would do a nice fall-themed wedding.....but if you want a winter theme, I was thinking maybe you can take the Tiffany box idea and have boxes with snowflakes on them? Maybe it sounds tacky...but maybe you can take a symbol of winter (snowflakes, icicles, snowmen, holly berries and pinecones,etc...) and then use that as your theme. You can have the boxes stacked with snowflakes painted on them in white or silver or even crystal beading and then have white flowers coming out of the top or something. But honestly, the bottom line is, do what YOU want! It's your wedding, and these days, anything goes!
