Yesterday afternoon my family and I lost a very important person in our lives. My grandmother passed away at 92 years old. She had been ill for a couple months, and while I'm grateful that her suffering and pain is over, I cant help but feel a little selfish and wish that she would still be here for the wedding in November. She was such a staple in my life. We lived with her so its almost like I lost my second mother yesterday. I'm trying to deal and FH has been AMAZING through this whole ordeal. I know that she will be with us on the wedding day, just not in the way that I always pictured. I still plan on getting her corsage and keeping a seat for her at the wedding. Would that be weird or strange? I guess I was just looking to put this out there, it somehow just still doesn't seem real...

Im so sorry! Since my grandmother passed last September we decided to do a memorial tablle. The seat is a great idea. Some people incorporate it to the ceremony by placing a rose on the seat during.

Thank you everyone, Fh and I just finally got home from the funeral and we're relaxing for the first time in days. She had a truely beautiful sendoff. Family from VA, old friends, even the FD send a group of people. She was an amazing woman and I will miss her terribly and all of your kind words and prayers mean so much thank you all!!

I'm sorry for you loss. I like the idea of having a candle for her and maybe a song in memory of her but the seat I don't know about... but you need to do whatever you want to do. You will see how you feel in a few months. DOn't decide anything just yet.

Sweetie I am SO SORRY for your loss! You are right, she isn't suffering anymore and she WILL be there on your wedding day!
I know it is hard and for what it is worth I will say a prayer for you and your family!
Keeping a chair is NOT weird at all! I think it is VERY sweet!
